Welcome to the Owatonna Gymnastics Club
REGISTRATION POLICIES
Each gymnast is required to pay a non-refundable yearly registration fee of $40.00. This fee is only charged once per year (Fall 1- Summer).
Recreational Classes at Owatonna Gymnastics run for seven weeks. Skill checking is usually held the sixth week of each session. Following skill checking you will receive a card indicating which level of class to register your gymnast for, for the next session.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that you register for the level indicated on the skill checking card. If a coach determines that a gymnast was registered for a level beyond what was indicated after skill checking, the gymnast will be dropped from the class and will need to re-register for the appropriate class. Please note that classes frequently fill up and a date/time for the appropriate level may no longer be available.
- Registration is first come first serve. It is usually very busy so plan ahead to get your pick of sessions. Our coach to gymnast ratio is 1:6 for preschool and mini-monster classes, and 1:8 for all others.
- All registrations must be completed within the online system. No mail-in or phone registrations will be accepted.
- Payment is made through the online site at the time of registration. Forms of payments accepted include Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card, and electronic check as an online payment. Registration is not assured until payment is received and spots will not be held unless payment is made in full at the time of registration.
-If your payment is returned as NSF, a $30.00 NSF fee will be added onto the original amount due and then will need to be collected, in cash, before continuing with OGC.
- After registering, but before the start of the session, if you want to switch to a class offered on a different day or at a different time, you may do so provided there is room in the class you seek to join. If the class you are moving into has a greater tuition expense then the class you original registered for, then you must pay the increased tuition. However, if the class you are moving into has a lesser tuition expense than your original class, you will not receive a refund. Please choose the classes you register for carefully!
No problem! Call the OGC general information number or email us prior to registration and staff will be happy to help.
Classes may be cancelled if there aren't enough gymnasts registered for the class. Withdrawing from a class must occur prior to the beginning of the session in order to receive a refund.
When bad weather or other emergencies cause cancellation of the regular day school program or activities, OGC activities scheduled during the day, after school or evening are also cancelled. A notification will be posted on our website homepage and also on Facebook. Because inclement weather is unpredictable and difficult to plan around, class sessions cancelled due to bad weather may not be refunded or rescheduled.
Please keep children off of equipment until their class begins. Parents are not allowed on the gym floor at any time during class for safety and liability reasons. If questions arise during your child's time with us, we encourage you to speak with his/her coach after class.
**All Preschoolers must be potty trained and may not wear a diaper or a pull-up.
OGC offers scholarships through our designated Scholarship Fund that is set aside at the beginning of each school year, beginning with our Fall 1 registration. Scholarships granted will be 25% of total fees. If applications exceed funds, recipients will be placed on a waiting list. Please download the application paperwork and submit it to the club or call for more information.
Print off and turn in application when completed
Print off and turn in the below document and our office staff will contact you about picking up your gift card!
Payment must be received at the time of registration. Registration is not assured until payment is received. A parent or guardian must sign the registration form. Withdrawal from a class must occur prior to the start of the session in order to receive a refund. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Gymnasts must be re-registered every session – your place in class is not carried over from one session to the next. There is no refund after the first class day of the session is completed.
Classes may be canceled if they do not fill. The Owatonna Gymnastics Club will cancel classes in the event the Owatonna Public Schools close due to weather. Listen to local radio stations, keep an eye out on our Facebook page and watch our website for closings due to inclement weather.
Gymnasts may make up a missed class on another day that same class level is offered within the same session. You must contact the office prior to making up to assure that there is adequate coaching staff available; call or email. All make-ups must occur within the same session that a class was missed. *Please note- the makeup policy may be altered due to COVID-19. Contact the office for clarification if you want to make up a missed class.
Gymnasts will be most comfortable in a leotard. However, comfortable stretch pants or shorts and t-shirt are acceptable. We carry a wide selection of leotards available for purchase at the club. Girls should come to class prepared with their hair up in a ponytail and clips as needed. NO socks, jewelry or gum, please.
Skill-checking will be done on the sixth week of each session. In week six, gymnasts will receive notification regarding class placement for the next session. It is not uncommon for gymnasts to remain in the same class level for several sessions while mastering the necessary skills for advancement. Gymnasts should remain in the viewing area and off all equipment until their class is called. Students should arrive on time so that they do not miss the important warm-up period necessary to prevent injuries. Parents should be prompt in picking up their children when the class has finished.
Parents are welcome to stay and watch from the provided seating area. NO parents or siblings are allowed past the spectator area, for their safety and the safety of gymnasts who are working out. Please keep children off all equipment prior to the start of their class or while waiting for pick-up.
**Please note, the spectator policy may be different due to COVID-19 guidelines.
Please contact the office with any questions or concerns at 507-451-4163. Thank you!
